Ambassador Belinda M. Ante gives her welcoming remarks to the Filipino Community who attended the first Meet and Greet on 01 May 2023 at the Embassy grounds.

02 May 2023 – Her Excellency Belinda M. Ante, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, was warmly welcomed by the Filipino Community on 01 May 2023 at the Embassy grounds.

The meet and greet was attended by more than one hundred fifty (150) Filipinos, some of whom came from far districts in Timor-Leste.

Filipino food was served during the activity such as “Pancit Bihon” and “Sorbetes”. In the spirit of “Bayanihan”, many Filipinos brought food to share with everyone, including hamonado, estofado, kakanin, macaroni salad, cake and pandesal, among many others.

Her Excellency greeted and thanked everyone for their heartfelt support and encouraged the Filipino Community to sing at the open-mic videoke at the latter part of the program, which was one of the highlights of the event.

Ambassador Ante also met the Board of Directors of the Association of Filipinos in East Timor (AFET) earlier that afternoon to discuss the status of Filipinos in Timor-Leste and forthcoming Embassy activities. END
