The Philippine Embassy in Dili held an informal dialogue with the leaders and sectoral representatives of the Filipino community in Timor-Leste last March 31.

Third Secretary and Vice Consul Maurice A. Tiempo moderated the discussions which focused on issues affecting the community, as well as the projected activities of the Embassy for 2016.

The Embassy also took the opportunity to enlist the help of the leaders and representatives in encouraging registered Filipino voters in Timor-Leste to cast their votes for this year’s National Elections.

During the meeting, both sides acknowledged the critical role of the Filipino community in further enhancing the cultural and people-to-people linkages between the Philippines and Timor-Leste.

The dialogue is in keeping with the Embassy’s vigorous efforts to promote transparent, accountable and participatory governance.
