Her Excellency, Ambassador Belinda M. Ante participated in the Inauguration ceremony of St. Benedict Menni Mental Health Care Facility in Maliana, Bobonaro. The event celebrated the establishment of the very first mental health facility in Bobonaro, founded by the Sisters Hospitaller of Sacred Heart of Jesus with the support of the Missionaries of the Poor, the Diocese of Vicar, municipal leaders, and NGO FONGTIL among others.
The primary objective of this facility is to provide support and aid to individuals recovering from mental health issues. This is particularly crucial in the region, as there is a scarcity of job opportunities and regular income, especially in financially distressed areas such as Maliana, Balibo, Atabae, Cailaco, and Bobonaro. The Sisters of Hospitaller of the Sacred Heart of Jesus have envisioned and spearheaded this initiative, recognizing the urgent need for mental healthcare in the community. Their dedicated commitment, alongside collaboration from the municipal government, NGOs, and other religious sectors, demonstrates an unwavering drive to serve vulnerable communities and uplift lives in the region.//END
