Dili, Timor-Leste, October 19, 2023 – In celebration of Museum and Galleries Month, the Philippine Embassy in Dili participated in an online panel discussion and art workshop entitled "Laro, Sining at Imahinasyon: An Interactive Learn and Play Experience," with the theme "Museo Pambata and the Filipino Children: Championing Learning through Art and Play." This online event was organized by the DFA-Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy in partnership with Museo Pambata.

One of the highlights of the workshop was a hands-on clay tutorial conducted in collaboration with master clay artist Mr. Ali Estrella. Children of Embassy personnel and their friends actively participated in the tutorial. With Mr. Estrella’s guidance, the children gleefully used their imagination to express themselves through clay molding techniques.

The clay making tutorial not only ignited the participants’ artistic talents and fostered cultural connections through the medium of clay but to showcase the potential of clay making as a tool for cultural diplomacy.

This year’s theme ““Exhibits and Reflections: Crafting Opportunities for the New World,” focuses on exploring the transformative power of art and how it can shape new possibilities for the future. The event highlighted the role of museums and galleries as platforms for showcasing artistic exhibits that inspire reflection and spark innovation. END
