Dili 12 June 2020 - To commemorate this year's 122nd Proclamation of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Embassy in Dili, Timor-Leste celebrated the occassion with the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Embassy Grounds in Barrio Farol, Dili, as the only activity. 

The celebration took place at around 7:30 in the morning of Friday, 12 June 2020 with all the six (6) officer/s and staff led by H.E. Abdulmaid K. Muin, the four (4) Embassy COS, the two (2) personnel of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Office, the Vice President of Association of Filipinos in East Timor (AFET) and six (6) dependents, in attendance.

After the Flag Raising ceremony was the reading of the Messages for the occassion of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. by the Ambassador himself, after which he delivered his own Message.

In their messages, the President and the DFA Secretary along with the Ambassador gave thanks and praises to all Filipinos for their steadfastness and resilience formed under the famous Filipino Bayanihan spirit in cooperating with and helping-out their government in battling the difficult situation and common problems brought about by 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic. However, all of them were in unison in saying that they will and are always on the alert to the best of their abilities to safeguard every Filipino wherever they maybe, and that, God willing, we will win the fight eventually.
